Shopping for clothes with a friend is fairly common, but let’s face it, no matter how well intentioned, they may not always offer the best advice. Yet, a person’s attire is so important! It speaks volumes about them, and, as we all know, you don’t get a second chance to make a good first impression.
Clothing dictates how you will be perceived. Whether we like it or not, clothing is part of our personal brand. Public figures know this only too well, so they use stylists. Well, why not you? Shopping with your own stylist isn’t just the prerogative of big stars like Celine Dion, Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake and countless others anymore. This service is now available to everyone, in large part thanks to Effrontés, the first style and image agency in Canada. Founded in 1999 by Marie-Claude Pelletier, this company offers a wide range of services, including one they call “shopping rally.”
The concept is simple. First, you meet or have a telephone interview with one of the agency’s 10 stylists, who will assess your needs. Then, the stylist will scout a few shops and prepare a shopping spree to suit your profile. After that, you set the date and time of the adventure— which takes an average of three hours—with “your” stylist. Say goodbye to interminable shopping outings and buyer’s remorse!
